What We Offer
CUSTOM HIKING TOURS
Each one of the hikes we offer have been completed by Rob and Aidan and offer the best opportunity to see the ‘real’ islands as well as ‘bagging’ a peak or two. We include accommodation and transfers in Antigua and the islands you will visit, as well as internal flights between the islands, guides for your hikes and the support of our team whilst you are in the Caribbean. You just need to book your flight to Antigua and we take care of everything else.
We use Antigua as a base as it has the best internal flight connections to the other islands Hike Caribbean offer. Sugar Ridge Hotel is the ideal place to stay in Antigua. Nestled up in the hills a short distance from Jolly Harbour, offering unrivalled views of the coastline, it is accessible for hikes around the island, including a walk out hike from Sugar Ridge to the highest point on the island, Boggy Peak.
Sugar Ridge also has the best sports and leisure facilities on the island, including a multi-purpose gym, a yoga studio and Aveda spa. It also recently opened ‘the shed’ a dedicated open air yoga room with jaw dropping views out over the coastline and nearby islands. The England Cricket Team choose Sugar Ridge as their Caribbean base for tours of the West Indies as does the author and coach Jamie Catto http://www.jamiecatto.com/
The accommodation we have selected on each island is the best we have found in terms of accessibility to the hiking areas and most important of all, offers the same degree of quality and luxury as Sugar Ridge, so you can happily rest your weary legs. Bear in mind though the that options on each island are limited by their size and their level of development. What is on offer in Montserrat isn’t going to be comparable to that on the more developed islands, such as Saint Lucia or St Kitts. As with all we offer, though, you are the customer, and we can have alternatives that can suit your needs and budget.
The details of the hikes on each of the islands are contained within the individual island sections as well as some sample itineraries which can be from one week up to three weeks. Our aim though is to work with your budget and timeframe to find the right experience for you. Whilst our focus is hiking, there is so much more to do in each of the islands and our team would be delighted to arrange this for you, whether you want a tour of a rum factory in Guadeloupe, to visit the volcano observatory in Montserrat or to ride the historic scenic railway in St Kitts. Equally, we have selected what we think to be the best accommodation for you on each of the islands but we can arrange alternatives depending on what your requirements are and your budget.
Let Hike Caribbean guide you through the wonders of the Caribbean, ensuring your experience provides you with memories to last a lifetime.
