New Dominica and Antigua Wellness Itinerary

 In Itineraries

Almost two years on from Hurricane Maria, Dominica is very much back on its feet with many businesses which had been devastated by the storm reopened and the main hiking routes open for business. The opening of Jungle Bay is particularly significant as the hotel has been closed since 2015 following Tropical Storm Erika. It’s complete rebuild and redesign have Dominica’s people and values at its heart.

Dominica, known as ‘The Nature Island’ is a hiker’s delight and Hike Caribbean has been ‘itching’ to add the island to its expanding range of active trips to the region since the company launched last year. Now the time is right as hikers begin to return to enjoy its mountainous scenery, pebble beaches and unique natural attractions.

Located on the east coast of Dominica, Jungle Bay is the perfect base from which to explore the island on foot. Numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well as the mysterious Valley of Desolation, hot water pools and the famous Titou Gorge are all waiting to be explored. Trekkers can take the misty mountain trail to Middleham Falls and Trafalgar Falls for a therapeutic swim in the waterfall pool. This trip is perfect for those seeking adventure but with sustainability in mind with strong eco credentials at the heart of Jungle Bay’s rebuild.
