New itinerary – Waterfalls, Volcanoes and Film sets of Guadeloupe
This week long trip to Guadeloupe combines a couple of self-guided walks with some more challenging group hikes and activities such as canyoning as well as an insider’s tour of the island discovering the main ‘Death in Paradise’ filming locations.
With the new series of the popular TV show returning in early 2019, this is a great time to explore the island which is the real life St Marie. Join in a group hike of La Soufriere (the highest point in the Eastern Caribbean Island at 1467 metres) for volcanic views stopping off at the Bains Jaunes, a spring water pool on your descent. This self-drive trip also includes the opportunity to tackle the Cascade Paradis hike in the waterfall town of Vieux Habitants, Les Chutes du Carbet hike to enjoy the highest waterfalls in the Lesser Antilles, as well as venturing across to the island of Terra De Haut, part of the Isles des Saintes archipelago, a short ferry ride away for a self-guided hike across the island. Finish the trip discovering the main filming spots for Death in Paradise in the town of Deshaies as well as taking a 5.5-hour canyoning excursion at Ravine Chaude, consisting of five rappels, two jumps and water slides.
